REgional Advance Deployment Teams

 (RAD) Teams

Hot Meals USA’s mobile kitchens can be deployed rapidly, but knowing where and when to deploy is critical—this has created the

need for Regional Advance Deployment (RAD) Teams.

What Are Regional Advance Deployment (RAD) Teams?

  •  “They’re the eyes, ears, and hands on the ground” - bridging local intel with national response.
  • RAD Teams can alert Hot Meals USA when disasters strike in their region, enabling quicker mobilization of food trailers and volunteers.
  • Along with other volunteers, RAD Teams can assist with logistics, setup, and coordination with emergency services.

What do RAD Teams Do?

  • RAD Teams can help scale operations by recruiting volunteers and securing additional resources.
  • They can help reduce deployment time by up to 40% by prepping logistics before our team arrives.
  • They activate trusted local networks that outsiders can’t access quickly.
  • They help set up meal sites, manage volunteer flow, and liaise with local officials.
  • Along with other volunteer organizations, RAD Teams help Hot Meals USA offer a much-needed response in providing food for those affected by disasters.
  • Communicate with local officials (emergency managers, sheriff, mayor, etc.) to inform them of the capacity of Hot Meals USA.
